My so called Workout Routine

Hey lovelies, happy Wednesday.
I walked through my first snow well actually flurries today here in NYC.
I walked from my office to my car that is.

Today I wanted to share some of the things I use as a means to stay in shape and be able to eat what I want in moderation of course.
It is after all the Holiday season and food is everywhere.
I have shared in the past I don't like to feel trapped into a must do in order to fit such and such.
I like to enjoy what I am doing because after all my time is very valuable.

So today I wanted to talk about all the tools I use (which are all FREE btw) in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My first tool is my Yoga mat. I use it for all my workouts and my Yoga class of course. I use it at least 4 times a week.
My next tool is a comfy pair of workout pants, Yoga pants or leggings that allow for great movement
and a comfy top with a sports bra to match. This is followed by a great pair of walking sneakers.
Last but not least the wonderful invention which is a computer, a tablet or any other device that allows you to go online.

So how do I use these tools? Why is it free and why do I swear by them and talk about loving my workout routines so much?
Well the answers are...

1- I go to free Yoga classes weekly at a community center in my borough. I also have a website I use if I can't make the class. Free!
2- I use my sneakers, which were a gift because I don't use sneakers outside of...Walking. I walk at least 3 times a week around my neighborhood park for about an hour or longer if weather is nice.
As it gets colder I cut it down but try to include walking in any other daily routines. Free!
3- The Internet is full of videos and sites that have loads of amazing workout routines etc you can do and use at a variety of lengths and strengths. Free!

So there you have it. This is what I do, this is one of the ways I maintain a healthy, stress free and balanced life style.
I've shared my practice of Meditation in the past as well and that is another form of healthy living.
No gym memberships, no running to class, no diets, no sweating my hair out no skipping meals.
Just a few minutes every other day doing something I found that works for me and I love.

I included some videos and a link I use. I also included a pic share of me and my tools. My face is purposely covered because this was not about a selfie op this was about comfy clothes, being content with the shape your in and using what's available to get in the shape you want to achieve.
Some of my video routines are less than 5 minutes! Who can't spare 5 minutes 3 times a week?
If you can't invest such a small amount of time on yourself then you really have bigger problems.

What do you use to stay in shape and live healthy?
Are the Holidays getting in the way of you eating right?
Do you find it hard to stick to a routine or is going to a gym the only way you workout?

Always stress free xo.

  1. Hi Mari,
I'm a first time visitor who saw your post at http://urbannaturale.com/live-it-up-at-the-healthy-happy-green-natural-party-blog-hop-49/. I can really relate to the idea of enjoying myself as I'm doing my thing (writer/author/blogger) and still fitting exercise that is enjoyable and health care (stuff like food, meditation, stress reduction) into routine. What a balancing act that can be at times. If you can, please check out my 2 blog posts-3 Secrets to Clutter Proof Your Home and Envision What You Want to Draw into Your Life at the Hop. 1. Serena, I'm glad too lol. Thanks for visit and comment. I truly believe that as moms if we could just find something we like that isn't to time consuming we would surely stick with it.

  3. Hi Mari,
I really enjoyed this post because getting my workouts in, especially during the cold winter months, is a great concern of mine. I use local community resources, a fitness center in my complex as well as a health club. I was very inspired by how you get your workouts in. Walking is also one of my favorite activities. Thank you so much for sharing this healthy post with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop. It's so nice to make a new blogging friend too! I'm pinning and sharing this.

    1. Deborah thank you! I see so many posts with gym routines and machines and such and I know that not all moms especially are into that. I felt I should share what works for me and hopefully it could encourage another. Glad you stopped by hope to chat again soon :)
